START HERE: How to set your student up so they can start math-ing!

Modified on Tue, 3 Mar at 8:24 PM

If you are new to Nicole the Math Lady, follow these steps to get your student up and running quickly.

Step 1 — Choose Your Student’s Course

First, decide which curriculum and textbook your student will use.

If you are unsure which course is best, we recommend using the placement test for the curriculum you plan to use.

• Singapore Dimensions Placement Tests → link to Dimensions placement test article

Once you know which course your student should take, continue to Step 2.

Step 2 — Assign the Course in Your Parent Dashboard

Log in to your Parent Dashboard.

  1. Click Course Settings on your student’s card.

  2. Select the Textbook.

  3. Select the Edition.

  4. Choose the Starting Lesson.

  5. Click Save.

This assigns the course to your student.

Step 3 — Your Student Logs In

Your student logs in using the student username and password that were created when the account was set up.

After logging in, the student will see their Student Dashboard, where they can access their lessons, videos, and assignments.

Step 4 — Watch the Lesson Video

Each lesson begins with a video explanation from Nicole.

Your student opens the lesson and watches the video before beginning their work.

Step 5 — Complete the Assignment

After watching the lesson video, your student completes the problems in their textbook or workbook.

If you are using Online Grading, answers can be entered and checked directly in the system.

Step 6 — Track Progress

You can monitor your student’s work anytime from your Parent Dashboard.

Reports allow you to see:

• completed lessons
• scores
• areas where your student may need help
